Uruzgan State University

Uruzgan University is recognized as one of the rapidly growing educational institutions in Afghanistan. Established in 2012 (1391 AH) by the central government of Afghanistan in Trinkot City, the university initially launched with the Faculty of Education offering programs in Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Pashto. Currently, this faculty operates with six active departments.

In 2013 (1392 AH), the Faculty of Agriculture was also inaugurated, offering Agronomy and Horticulture programs. Furthermore, in 2019 (1398 AH), the Ministry of Higher Education approved the establishment of the Faculty of Computer Science for the academic year 2020 (1399 AH) with departments specializing in Network Engineering and Information Systems.


Administrative and Academic Structure

Uruzgan University operates under a well-defined academic, administrative, and training framework, managed by the University President in accordance with national laws and regulations. The university appoints vice-presidents and department heads to oversee various faculties and sections. Recruitment for academic positions strictly adheres to the Ministry of Higher Education's standards, ensuring qualified personnel are appointed.


Human Resources and Facilities

The university currently employs 50 academic staff members, six of whom manage both academic and administrative duties. In total, the university has 89 staff members working in different departments to support its operations.


Facility Expansion

To support faculty and staff, the university has established well-organized internet services and a reliable power system, including diesel generators and solar energy solutions. The administration has also implemented a comprehensive database to manage student records, promoting transparency and digital governance.


Development of the Academic Environment

The leadership at Uruzgan University has made significant efforts to create an optimal academic environment by developing modern teaching facilities, constructing standard buildings, equipping laboratories, and addressing other essential needs. These ongoing efforts aim to ensure students are well-prepared to meet the demands of the job market through modern curricula and quality education.
